Complete Stock or Custom Engine Rebuilds - We perform professional engine rebuilds and will stand behind them on all air-cooled Volkswagen and air-cooled Porsche engines listed on our website as well as Wasserboxer Vanagon engines.  We can build your engine exactly as it left the factory with NOS parts or enhance it with larger displacement cylinders, higher compression heads and pistons, stroker cranks, modified cams and custom jetted carburetors.  We can build engines to fulfill your performance desires or work within your budget constraints to provide reliable transportation.  We will help you correctly break-in new engines and perform necessary adjustments and servicing required during the first 1000 miles of a new engines life and our engine rebuilds are warranteed for 3 years or 36,000 miles.

Transaxle Rebuilds - Assuming we have a rebuildable core, we can rebuild VW or Porsche transaxles or work with a remanufacturing facility to get it rebuilt to original specs.  Early and exotic transmissions may take some time to find the correct parts or have the necessary ones fabricated by our local machine shop.  The more common transaxles are a piece-of-cake and we have all the parts required for them.  If we can't rebuild it, we can find one that is rebuildable or install a later model one and fabricate the required shift linkages.  We are up to the challenge.

Drivetrain Conversions - Generally we stick to installing later model VW engines in earlier cars, Porsche engines in Volkswagens or Vanagons.  Sorry, we're not the ones who will put a small block Chevy V-8 in your 914.  We also install later or heavy-duty transmissions in earlier cars with more powerful engines and perform any custom shift linkage fabrications required to achieve "factory" appearance and trouble-free performance.

Engine Maintenance & Tune-ups - We want to build a relationship with you and your engine.  Since we specialize in air-cooled and "wasserboxer" engines, we want to help you get the best performance and greatest longevity out of them.  When a partial or total rebuild is required, we're the ones most qualified to help you decide which approach is right for you.  Also, if you've invested in an engine built by us, we're going to make sure it's delivering all that was promised and will make it right if there are issues.  We expect you to treat an engine with due diligence. 

Suspension Repair & Enhancement - There are lots of opportunities to improve the suspension of early Volkswagens and Porsches and between new technology and vintage technology, we can offer some very attractive alternatives to make your car handle better and safer.

Brake System Conversions - We can convert most drum brake systems to modern disk brake systems.  If you significantly enhance the power of the engine in your car, we're going to plead with you to put better brakes on it.  We want you to be safe and protect both you and your investment.  Our conversions maintain the stock wheel lug pattern and can be installed in a manner that requires physically crawling under the car to see the brake modifications.  We are also able to convert early single circuit brake systems to later dual diagonal circuits so there is not a single point of failure with the master cylinder.

Used, NOS and Reproduction Parts For Sale -  We might have that elusive part you're looking for to complete that early Volkswagen or Porsche restoration.  Our parts inventory is not on-line or automated so you'll have to call and give us a number we can get back to you with because we're going to have to hunt around in our "warehouse" (the basement) to see if we have it.  If the batteries go out on our flashlight, it may take awhile.

Pre-Purchase Inspections - We are happy to assess a potential project car for you and checking for matching serial numbers if a concours restoration is desired.  We survey rust and previous repair work and give you a conservative estimate to the degree of rebuilding required.  We do not do fixed bid estimates of restoration projects unless you have a hundred-thousand-dollar project budget.

Insurance Estimates - We are happy to work with your collector car or homeowners insurance to provide estimates for the costs to repair damaged and vandalized vehicles.  We do not provide fixed-bid services so the estimates will be conservative.
