VW Vanagons and Westfalia Campers are Equipment - Our usual customer who owns one of these great vehicles isn't a collector, they use their vans as everyday transportation.  Constant use for tasks like hauling; their families to school, groceries from the store, mountain bikes to the trailhead or construction tools to the job site.  Westfalia Camper owners use their "Swiss Army Knife-like" RVs  to explore mountains and ocean beaches of the Pacific Northwest.  The one thing in common all these customers have is the need for economical and reliable transportation. We're not in the business of restoring these vehicles to showroom condition as much as we are into keeping them in service.

We Cure Your Wasserboxer Woes - "Wasser" is German for "water"  and "boxer" is a type of engine where pairs of two horizontal cylinders oppose each other and each pair reach top-dead-center at the same time and look like a "boxer" punching.  So "Wasserboxer" is the name of the water-cooled variant of the classic Volkswagen air-cooled pancake 4-cylinder "boxer" engine.  Wasserboxers are notorious for being underpowered and prone to head leaks.  Between the stroker engine components we've developed in-house and an updated head package available from Volkswagen, we've cured the power and reliability issues many Vanagon owners complain about.  We understand the Wasserboxer and can build and tune them to provide years of trouble-free service.   We can rebuild your Wasserboxer back to stock but we recomment that you have its power increased with our  stroked engine package using shaved pistons and oversized cylinders for higher compression and more horsepower.

Vanagon Suspension Enhancements - We handle a full range of handling and ride enhancements for the Vanagon, including custom-built, heavy-duty strut cartridge / spring setups and sway bars.  Brake system upgrades are also available and recommended when more powerful engine packages are added to the vehicle.

Repairs and "Freshening-Up" -  If you’ve purchased an already restored or well-preserved Vanagon or Westfalia Camper needing a little “freshening-up,” we’re more than happy to take on these projects for you as well.

Transaxles and "Synchro" All-Wheel-Drive Systems - We can handle any repairs required on even the most complex of Vanagon drivetrains.  Synchro all-wheel-drive systems are no big deal and actually quite reasonable to keep in top working condition.
